Maximize your time and energy spent with technology.

Your phone is a big distraction from your work, business, or hobby.

What can you do to be productive on your laptop?

Have you ever thought of this? It’s not hard to be productive every day, because you don’t need a lot of work to accomplish things. When you have digital tasks and projects to complete, all you need are the comfort of your home, an internet connection, and your laptop.

In this article, I’ll touch on two apps you can use to maximize your time and build your skills in your free time.

2 Apps You Can Use To Be Productive

💻Microsoft Word/Google Docs:

A word editor is more than just an app for writing assignments. I’ve explored many possible uses for these, including:

Create PDF resources: Got a checklist, to-do list, or guide you want to make? You can insert shapes and arrange them on the pages, change colors, add images, add text, and then export it as a PDF.

Write stories or journal entries: We all have a story we can tell. You can write fiction, non-fiction, or even document your daily life. One day it might become a hit in stores!

💻Internet Browsers (Google Chrome/Firefox/Safari):

The internet is full of resources you can take advantage of right now! Here are some activities you can start with:

Take a course: Whether it’s learning new skills or taking online courses to supplement your education, there are plenty of online resources you can use to learn!

You can never have too many skills or know too much. Learn a language, skill, or subject! There are also free (and cheaper) courses you can take online. I recommend any of these:

Read an e-book: There’s no shortage of interesting stories online. You can find whatever you fancy: manga, fiction, non-fiction, and more! Exercising your brain while reading does sound more productive than watching funny fails on Youtube.

Travel online: Use Google maps or travel websites to explore the world for free (minus your internet bill.) Read up on places you’ve always wanted to go, watch videos, and use interactive maps.

Read news: Stay on top of the latest global events from your browser. Use a news app or Google news.

Learn a new skill: You don’t need an expensive course to learn a new skill. Even Youtube has instructional & helpful videos that can teach you to create or accomplish something. At the same time, some online institutions and websites offer affordable courses or subscriptions you can learn from.

Tips To Maintain Productivity

💻Take Breaks

Don’t bombard yourself with mountains of work, expecting to finish them in a short time. You’ll end up stressed and with more work because you’d burn out or be rushing to complete everything.

💻Focus On One Task At A Time

Multitasking takes a lot of energy to do, especially when you're juggling more than two tasks at a time. Some people can handle the pressure, but multitasking is less productive than it seems.

Instead of using that energy to finish something and move on, you’d be spending your time doing pieces of everything. In the end, nothing gets done.

💻Motivate Yourself

Before you start anything, make sure you're in the right mindset and environment. Work in a well lit & well-ventilated room. Define the goals for your session before you start. Make them small and attainable so you can “celebrate the small wins”.

💻Make It Fun!

Who says you can't have fun while working/studying? If you want to get the job done, then you’re going to have to set the mood for it! Play some of your favorite songs, have a drink or snack next to you, sit in a comfy place, and make your environment clean.

What other apps do you think you can use to be productive? Let me know in the comments!
